Pink Praline Cake

1st pic of the post

A very yummy recipe on the blog today… a pink praline cake! Once again, I made this delicious cake & took the photos yesterday with the greatest pleasure! I must admit that I really like doing it… it takes time but as the result’s here, it’s definitely worth it, isn’t it?!

But let’s talk seriously, here’s the recipe!

Ingredients

  • 150g of flour
  • 120g of caster sugar
  • 150g of slightly melted butter
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 baking powder bag
  • 100g of pink pralines
  • 50g of ground almonds

Directions

  1. Mix the slightly melted butter with the caster sugar. Add the 3 eggs one by one and mix well once you’ve added one. Then, add the flour and the baking powder to the mixture.
  2. Put the pink pralines and the almonds in the previous mixture.
  3. Pour into a loaf tin and bake for about 30 minutes at 180°.
  4. READY! You can enjoy your lukewarm cake 😉 … and don’t forget to wrap it otherwise so that it keeps its ‘softness’.

Enjoy baking! But first, savour these delicious photos !!!

With this,

Keep holding on to what you love & enjoy the ride of life 😉

Financiers & red fruits skewers

Yoop! Here I am today with a brand new and very yummy recipe! I hope everybody had a happy national day in France and that everyone had a lovely weekend!!!! I was thinking the other day (yes! it happens sometimes :p!!!) and I realised it’s been ages since I last wrote a cookery post on the blog (the 14th of July cupcakes excluded of course!!!), so I thought it was more than ever time to do so! I mean… Summer is here and most of us like cooking and making delicious little things for these very hot summery days so…

Today’s recipe is extracted from the last MY LITTLE WORLD magazine and is entitled Financiers & red fruits skewers! This title and the photo below are greatly enough to make my mouth water :p!!!

  • 100g of icing sugar

  • 40g of flour
  • 50g of butter

  • 12 strawberries
  • 48 blueberries

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C.
  2. Make the butter melt.
  3. Mix the icing sugar, the flour and the ground almonds in a bowl. Then, add the cooled butter and the egg whites.
  4. Mix it all well!
  5. Pour the dough in muffin pastry tins and put them in the oven for about 10 minutes. The financiers must be quite brown!
  6. Let it cool.

Now, put your aprons on and let’s bake these SO very yummy summer skewers :)!!!!

With this, my budding pastry chef, and apart from enjoying & savouring these financiers,

Keep holding on to what you love & enjoy the ride of life 😉

Let’s get the 14th of July ready!!!

La recette des cupcakes du 14 juillet !

I might feel a bit more English (or slightly British!) than French sometimes… but France has always been and will always be my homeland (the place where I was born, because for those of you who know me a bit better, you know I’ve found a second home ;)!!!), so I think it’s absolutely necessary to prepare the French national day as it’s due to be!

Fireworks, picnic, sun, dance… The 14th of July is inevitably a party day!!!! And so as to make the party even crazier, I suggest we learn to make very yummy three-coloured cupcakes together!

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs – 150g of flour – 90g of lightly melted butter – 110g of brown sugar – 1 baking powder bag – 80g of fresh & thick cream – 30ml of milk
  • 250g of icing sugar – 80g of butter – 3 to 4 drops of blue & red food colouring (for the three-coloured frosting)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Mix the butter and the brown sugar until the mixture whiten.
  2. Add the eggs one by one to the butter & sugar mixture.
  3. Then, incorporate the flour and the baking powder. Mix it well.
  4. Add the fresh cream.
  5. With a pastry bag, pour this mixture in cupcake baking tins and let your cupcakes bake for 20 minutes (180°C).
  6. Get the frosting ready. In a mixer’s bowl, pour the icing sugar and the melted butter. Mix it. Add the milk very delicately. Mix again. Let it dry for 1 hour.
  7. Once the cupcakes are baked and cooled, you can frost them. Put your frosting in 3 different bowls. Add 3 to 4 drops of red food colouring in one of them, and 3 to 4 drops of blue food colouring in another one. Mix delicately.
  8. Using a knife or a spatula, decorate your cupcakes as showed on the photo above!

And it’s ready! The only thing you have to do know is savour these 14th of July cupcakes and enjoy your national day with your friends and family (at least, for those of you who are French :p)! 😉

With this, my lovely chefs, I wish everyone a very happy (and YUMMY!!!) 14th of July… and as usual,

Keep holding on to what you love & enjoy the ride of life 😉

Much Love to all my adorable readers ❤

xoxo
