Gastronomic Weekend

IMG_1553I first would like to apologise for the very bad quality of the photos of this post, but I didn’t have my usual photographer with me this weekend, and only my iPod, so I’m very sorry about that! I hope you won’t be too mad at me :/! I will do better next time, I promise (I will take my very cherished Nikon with me ^^).

DAY 1

Our first restaurant this weekend, Konyne, is situated next to my hometown; it’s a very simple restaurant, where original and delicious dishes are cooked! The inside of the restaurant makes me think of those chalets/bungalows you’re usually staying at when you go skiing, so you feel quite at ease and comfy! In short, it’s a perfect place to spend a nice evening with your family ;)!

DAY 2

This Sunday, I visited my maternal grandpa I hadn’t seen for about three years now! We had such a lovely time together, accompanied by a very yummy lunch at the restaurant, Les Lauriers roses, in Bourbonne-les-Bains. Though the weather was particularly bad today, it was such a joy to see my grandpa again! I hope these few hours with us will have helped him get better! With this short babbling (for once! #haha !!!), I’ll let you enjoy my disastrous photos :p!

It was a late post, but I came back from Bourbonne just a few hours ago so…

I hope you enjoyed it even a little bit, and anyway I write to you very soon for the next InstaMagic and also for other (I hope) nice posts 😉

Keep holding on to what and who you love & enjoy the ride of life 😉

Much Love ❤

New Beginning…

I was in the winter of my life, and the men I met along the road were my only summer.
At night I fell asleep with visions of myself, dancing and laughing and crying with them.
Three years down the line of being on an endless world tour, and my memories of them were the only things that sustained me, and my only real happy times.
I was a singer – not a very popular one,
I once had dreams of becoming a beautiful poet, but upon an unfortunate series of events saw those dreams dashed and divided like a million stars in the night sky that I wished on over and over again, sparkling and broken.
But I didn’t really mind because I knew that it takes getting everything you ever wanted, and then losing it to know what true freedom is.
When the people I used to know found out what I had been doing, how I’d been living, they asked me why – but there’s no use in talking to people who have home.
They have no idea what it’s like to seek safety in other people – for home to be wherever you lay your head.
♪ Ride – Lana Del Rey ♪

I am dedicating this post to the adorable people I met in England & I view as my friends today, to Caroline Behan (the funny, faithful and true friend), Becky Murray (the very supportive and sweet but slightly crazy friend), Laura Payne (the thoughtful friend and one of the nicest girls on earth), Jamie Ward (the sensitive “gangsta” & big brother friend) and Melody Wilson (the popular girl… but the nice one ^^ ! #haha).

“No, this is not the beginning of a new chapter in my life; this is the beginning of a new book! That first book is already closed, ended, and tossed into the seas; this new book is newly opened, has just begun! Look, it is the first page! And it is a beautiful one!” – C. Joybell C.

Strength & Love… that’s what a new beginning usually brings back into your life! It starts with a smile, a hello, a simple name or just a door that is held. In fact, it starts when you meet THOSE people! It starts when you feel like you’re home when you look THEM in the eyes…

And there is ONE thing you feel… You feel butterflies! You feel butterflies in your stomach, you feel like everything has changed in a burst of light and after a while (and that’s precisely where I am now!) you feel like you just wanna know THEM better, because they are the people who made your heart beat again, the people who showed you, proved you there was hope when everything was dark around you (or at least not very bright :p!). Lisi Harrison once wrote “It was an image I would never forget. Or was it the emotions the image conjured – hope, excitement, and fear of the unknown, all three tightly braided together, creating a fourth emotion that was impossible to define. It was getting a second chance at happiness and it tickled like swallowing fifty fuzzy caterpillars.” That’s how I felt when I met them… It’s a bit like welcoming the new year, full of unknown and exciting things that have never been.

You can start so many things with new friends! They have a picture of you that is so pure and new and fresh! My new friends don’t see the girl I used to be because I don’t want them to see her, I don’t want them to see the depressed, insecure and quite fragile girl I was… I don’t want that because this girl doesn’t really exist anymore, she got rid of all her burdens and she’s more than ever ready to move on! There is nonetheless Carl Bard who reminds this: “Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.” So in short, it’s all about second chances… And because these people I’ve quoted at the beginning showed me a whole new world, a world where there’s more happiness I’ve never thought there could be, because they maybe unconsciously offered me this second chance, and because they are also giving me the perspective of another ending (an happier one!); for all these reasons, you’ll probably better understand why I can’t go back to where & who I used to be, why I can’t live the rest of my life in France and become the girl I was again (I love my homeland, my friends and my family… this has nothing to do with them in particular, but with the situation some of them created).

So all I’m gonna do now is not count the days, hours, minutes and seconds that separate me from England, from the hearts of my friends, well from home actually (because you know your home is, above all, in the hearts of the people you love and who love you!), BUT I’m gonna make every day, every hour, every minute and every second I’ll spend with THEM count! It’s been a too long time now I’m living like I’m not alive that I am NOT not going to take every opportunity to start over and finally live the way I’m supposed to (if this makes any sense?! :/)!

I will simply finish this post with a quote of Roman Payne, once more witnessing how travelling help you realise where & who you belong with…

“Cities were always like people, showing their varying personalities to the traveller. Depending on the city and on the traveller, there might begin a mutual love, or dislike, friendship, or enmity. Where one city will rise a certain individual to glory, it will destroy another who is not suited to its personality. Only through travel can we know where we belong or not, where we are loved and where we are rejected.”

Everything’s pretty clear to me now! I’ve found my safe place… in England, a place where I feel at ease. I’ve met a lovely bunch of people I now consider home (yes I’m talking about you who saw their names coloured in orange at the beginning of this article :p !!! ^^). In fact, I’ve found those people and that place, giving me that happy-cry feeling! And honestly, aren’t those things some of the most important things there are in life?!

Every night I used to pray that I’d find my people, and finally I did on the open road.
We had nothing to lose, nothing to gain, nothing we desired anymore, except to make our lives into a work of art.
Live fast. Die young. Be wild. And have fun.
I believe in the person I want to become.
I believe in the freedom of the open road.
And my motto is the same as ever:
“I believe in the kindness of strangers. And when I’m at war with myself I ride, I just ride.”

Feeling blessed to know THEM…

Favim.com-29766

“Live your truth. Express your love. Share your enthusiasm. Take action towards your dreams. Walk your talk. Dance and sing to your music. Embrace your blessings. Make today worth remembering.”

― Steve MaraboliUnapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience

(That’s what I’m gonna try to do anyway… make this post worth remembering for all the people it is dedicated to…)

“THEM”… all the fantastic people I’ve met and learnt to know lately. Their names? You probably don’t care, but I nonetheless want to mention them, because it matters to me… I’m sure you already know both Florence (also called Flavie Peticoeur on her blog, my adorable #PetitChatPréféré) and Jamie (the lovely & amazing current Marius, performing in Les Misérables at the Queen’s Theatre in London) I had the chance to interview a bit earlier this year! You may also know Chloé (from La penderie de Chloé – blog) who shares a common taste for cider (not to say LOVE… you’re gonna think we’re alcoholic :p! Actually naww, not with cider :p!!!). I would also like to talk about three incredible British girls, whose names are Caroline, Becky and Laura (a very great bunch of people ^^). And the last persons I want to mention are the incredible girls, running Jamie Ward’s and Celinde Schoenmaker’s fan pages; I’m obviously talking about my very much loved Jenna & Stela and Julia (Love you, girls xxx)!

Now that I’ve made the presentations, I think I can start explaining why I feel so blessed. I’m saying “blessed”, but I could also say “thankful” and “lucky”, or even “happy”… because those people are SIMPLY & TRULY amazing, and they do make me happy :)!

Steve Maraboli once wrote, “It is only with true love and compassion that we can begin to mend what is broken in the world. It is these two blessed things that can begin to heal all broken hearts.” When I arrived in England, I was totally, completely broken… my family was entirely destroyed, my life in France was kind of a mess (and… still is, to be honest, but I’ll deal with that when I’m back :s), I couldn’t see the good things in life anymore… (hopefully, the only things I could hold on to were my cat and my horse – fortunately, my very much loved horse is still here, living his BEAUTIFUL horse life, and still not bothered by all the bullshit life can bring :p, but my little cat is not well at all and it truly kills me 😦 …)  but since then… I met some very lovely, adorable, amazing, incredible, gentle and sweet people over here… across the sea 😉 (I could find lots of adjectives of that kind to describe them, but I think I shall stop here for the moment ^^)! And those people (that now includes the ones I mentioned at the very beginning of this post) changed everything… In a word, they gave me my smile back :D! What’s more important than that?! Nothing really… I think they simply proved me, showed me that there was a place to belong to, a place where a happy life was well and truly possible, this so very special and cherished place, where I met them… England!

So, yeah! I feel blessed and thankful and lucky to know these people… my lovely British family, Caroline, Jamie, Florence, Chloé, Jenna, Becky, Laura, Stela and Julia…

So to you, guys, who have spent at least four minutes with me in some way :p, I just want to say THANK YOU! Thank you for being in my life today, thank you for bringing joy back in my life, thank you for being who you are and doing what you do! I love you like I love sparkles, I love you like I love my horse and cat, I love you like I love my family and I love you like I love having the last word ;p! And, believe me, THAT’S real love ;)! Xxx

(I would like to say a special thank you to Jamie, who definitely made my day the other evening (see! I have still not got over it ;p!) when he sent that very sweet & lovely tweet). 🙂

With this, the only thing I’d like to wish you, my very dear readers, is to feel that way too… Feeling thankful and blessed for what and who you have in your life that makes you happy… I truly & sincerely wish this for all of you, simply because, I think, that’s one of the keys to happiness, to YOUR happiness 😉

So…

Keep holding on to what you love & enjoy the ride of life 😉

Much love ❤

Two of the most beautiful words just for you… ‘Thank you’

Hello there, I promised you the other day I would write to you on Sunday, so… here it is! I published a Press-minute a few days ago to allow you to ask me whatever you wanted, but I didn’t get any questions, so I was a bit surprised to see that you weren’t more curious than that (even if I can understand you don’t want to be indiscrete or anything, but this is something I suggested so I’m DEFINNITELY ready to answer your questions ;)!), but I’m not in a rush at all, so I’m still waiting for you to write to me 😉 x

Today’s post is dedicated to YOU, my lovely readers ;)! Indeed, I would like to thank all of you SO MUCH for reading my articles, following the blog, liking the posts, sharing them and coming more and more numerous over here. I don’t know if you can imagine how joy-overwhelmed I am! This is really crazy! I mean, I started writing about three months ago and now, you’re more than 100 WordPress followers and I’m not even counting all the people, who follow me on the diverse social networks.

I’m so glad to read all your very kind comments and to see that you like what I write. It really means a lot to me, so… thank you for that (once again!)!

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Believe it or not, but by reading my articles, you simply make me want to do even better and as I don’t want to disappoint anyone, I simply keep on writing down what’s in my heart. And isn’t it the best way to write?

So basically, with this little post, I just want to say ‘THANK YOU’…. To you: my cheery dear readers, my deeply beloved friends & family… to life actually!

Just promise me you won’t forget to…

Keep holding on to what you love & enjoy the ride of life 😉
