Pinthebest #6 & the Super Sweet Blogger Award

photo

First of all, I would say a big thank you to White Trinity, who nominated me for the Super Sweet Blogger Award! I’m very moved by this award, especially because sweet is the way I’ve always wanted people to see me and think of me :)… so I’m more than glad to receive that award ;)! It’s not a smile that appeared on my face when I saw it this morning, but lots of butterflies flying restlessly in my whole body :D! In a word, I think you will have understood that I’m very VERY happy!

This joy may also have something to do with the fact that I’m going to London next weekend, where I will meet some friends and enjoy this city, well… make the most of it before I go back to France (in 2 weeks now… a bit less actually! :/ Time flies! Cliché?! I don’t think so… it’s just gone so quickly!!! I wish I could have stayed longer, as you already know that, but the only fact of seeing my little brother again prevents me from crying (at least for now :s)!)

And so as to celebrate this SUPER SWEET BLOGGER AWARD, I wanted to make you a little treat & thus edit a new special Pinthebest, with lots of very yummy sweet summery things (I’m obviously thinking of the MUST of every summer… the delicious, various and diverse ice creams !!!! Mmmm… YUMMY, YUMMY ^^).

Feeling blessed to know THEM…

Favim.com-29766

“Live your truth. Express your love. Share your enthusiasm. Take action towards your dreams. Walk your talk. Dance and sing to your music. Embrace your blessings. Make today worth remembering.”

― Steve MaraboliUnapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience

(That’s what I’m gonna try to do anyway… make this post worth remembering for all the people it is dedicated to…)

“THEM”… all the fantastic people I’ve met and learnt to know lately. Their names? You probably don’t care, but I nonetheless want to mention them, because it matters to me… I’m sure you already know both Florence (also called Flavie Peticoeur on her blog, my adorable #PetitChatPréféré) and Jamie (the lovely & amazing current Marius, performing in Les Misérables at the Queen’s Theatre in London) I had the chance to interview a bit earlier this year! You may also know Chloé (from La penderie de Chloé – blog) who shares a common taste for cider (not to say LOVE… you’re gonna think we’re alcoholic :p! Actually naww, not with cider :p!!!). I would also like to talk about three incredible British girls, whose names are Caroline, Becky and Laura (a very great bunch of people ^^). And the last persons I want to mention are the incredible girls, running Jamie Ward’s and Celinde Schoenmaker’s fan pages; I’m obviously talking about my very much loved Jenna & Stela and Julia (Love you, girls xxx)!

Now that I’ve made the presentations, I think I can start explaining why I feel so blessed. I’m saying “blessed”, but I could also say “thankful” and “lucky”, or even “happy”… because those people are SIMPLY & TRULY amazing, and they do make me happy :)!

Steve Maraboli once wrote, “It is only with true love and compassion that we can begin to mend what is broken in the world. It is these two blessed things that can begin to heal all broken hearts.” When I arrived in England, I was totally, completely broken… my family was entirely destroyed, my life in France was kind of a mess (and… still is, to be honest, but I’ll deal with that when I’m back :s), I couldn’t see the good things in life anymore… (hopefully, the only things I could hold on to were my cat and my horse – fortunately, my very much loved horse is still here, living his BEAUTIFUL horse life, and still not bothered by all the bullshit life can bring :p, but my little cat is not well at all and it truly kills me 😦 …)  but since then… I met some very lovely, adorable, amazing, incredible, gentle and sweet people over here… across the sea 😉 (I could find lots of adjectives of that kind to describe them, but I think I shall stop here for the moment ^^)! And those people (that now includes the ones I mentioned at the very beginning of this post) changed everything… In a word, they gave me my smile back :D! What’s more important than that?! Nothing really… I think they simply proved me, showed me that there was a place to belong to, a place where a happy life was well and truly possible, this so very special and cherished place, where I met them… England!

So, yeah! I feel blessed and thankful and lucky to know these people… my lovely British family, Caroline, Jamie, Florence, Chloé, Jenna, Becky, Laura, Stela and Julia…

So to you, guys, who have spent at least four minutes with me in some way :p, I just want to say THANK YOU! Thank you for being in my life today, thank you for bringing joy back in my life, thank you for being who you are and doing what you do! I love you like I love sparkles, I love you like I love my horse and cat, I love you like I love my family and I love you like I love having the last word ;p! And, believe me, THAT’S real love ;)! Xxx

(I would like to say a special thank you to Jamie, who definitely made my day the other evening (see! I have still not got over it ;p!) when he sent that very sweet & lovely tweet). 🙂

With this, the only thing I’d like to wish you, my very dear readers, is to feel that way too… Feeling thankful and blessed for what and who you have in your life that makes you happy… I truly & sincerely wish this for all of you, simply because, I think, that’s one of the keys to happiness, to YOUR happiness 😉

So…

Keep holding on to what you love & enjoy the ride of life 😉

Much love ❤

xoxo

The first day of spring # All’s well that ends well ;)

After a little bit of drama today, everything was eventually fine! I don’t know if it’s because it was the first day of spring or what, but today was the kind of day you’ll remember until the end of your life! This day was just a mix (or should I say, “a big mess”) of everything! We had a stressful & dramatic moment, a weird one and at the end of the day, of course, a happy one.

I’m generally not the kind of person who likes telling what her day was made of (because they’re are quite all the time the same!!!) but for today, I’m going to make an exception!

I’m passing all the boring details such as my waking up, my having breakfast & shower, … I’m just going to go to the point. Let’s start with the stressful & dramatic act which is really common, but absolutely NOT COOL when it happens to you (even if technically it didn’t happen to me, but to one of my English friend :s)! Anyway the fact is that it cut me off my usual and daily “tête-à-tête” with Jane Austen (yeah! she provides me quite such an occupation!!!) Well, let’s come back to the drama of the day! The whole story is about my English friend who had a dissertation to give back before 4pm; she finished it around 1:30pm and obviously needed to print it and bind it! The thing was that, OF COURSE, the printer ran out of (no, not INK… Game Over!) PAPER!!! And here’s the time for a good panic attack because we didn’t have time to go and get some (that’s kind of an usual problem when you live on an island and the nearest supermarket is 20 minutes-car away!), so we went to see my dear & lovely colleagues at the charity shop to ask them if they had some F***ING sheet of paper, but they didn’t. The thing is that I think they really like me and I really had to look very desperate(I know, I can be a good comedian when I want to, when it’s worse being ;)!) because one of the manager was turning her desk upside down to try to find this damned PAPER and my favorite volunteer colleague went to see the solicitor next door and asked him for some paper he (I assume) gladly gave to him! And here it is, I was back with the PAPER!

It truly looked like a James Bond film today (I’m not even joking)!

And of course, this day was not “special” enough… there had to be a kind of stupid, idiotic cyclist who was on the wrong side of the road and we barely killed (well, I may be exaggerating a bit but it was really close!!!)! He thought he was in France or what???!!! Silly man (or woman, I’m not even sure it was a man… everything just went so fast!)!!! Well, THAT was the weird part of the day!

Finally the day ended up pretty well. My friend could return her paper on time, we had some fajitas for dinner (we were the TOP CHEFS tonight!) and I got a new English book (and a cookbook, because it’s always good to have so “delicious” reading to do !), the current must-have CD and a brand new notebook I hope I can use for a likely coming interview…

Some new goods...

Some new goods…

I hope I didn’t get you bored with all this! And don’t forget…

Keep holding on to what you love & enjoy the ride of life 😉 (It’s actually pretty cool when it’s kind of “spicy” :D)
